Deliverance From The Snare of the Fowler

You have entered the threshold filled with the manifestations of the promises of God. This process of transition from the old season into this season of newness may still feel strange, but it was strategically designed to bring God all of the glory.

The enemy will attempt to test how “free” you are. Even though the Israelites were physically set free from the bondage of the Egyptians, the mentality of the slave lingered in their hearts and in their spirit. The Lord is setting you free from old bondages and snares that have been planned to enslave you.

Psalm 91:3

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

In biblical times, a fowler was an individual who caught birds using traps and snares. These traps would typically be set in areas where birds would congregate, such as trees and caves. Once the trap was set, the fowler would hide in plain sight and wait for an unsuspecting bird to trigger the snare. Then, capture the bird.

The phrase “snare of the fowler” from Psalm 91:3 is a metaphor for Satan’s evil schemes. Just as a fowler sets traps and snares to catch unsuspecting birds, Satan sets traps and snares to ensnare innocent souls in a feeble attempt to limit freedom and elevation.

The fowler in Psalm 91:3 prophetically represents manipulative and exploitative people who seek to ensnare others into sin and discredit them in their seasons of promotion. The fowler wants to keep you from mounting up with wings as eagles. He doesn’t want you to be able to leave the nest, but the Lord has already decreed that, “YOU WILL NOT BE COMMANDEERED OUT OF YOUR DUE SEASON”.

Snares are all around us and they manifest in various forms. Snares also have the ability to wait patiently for a long time to catch their victims. A good example of a snare resembles the trap that was set for Samson (Judges 14:1-3) using his weakness for the strange women. He fell into the trap through Delilah and this led to his untimely death with his enemies. Additionally, evil snares are intended to:

  • Cause you injury.

  • Destroy you.

  • Arrest your movement.

  • Entangle you in the enemy’s web.

  • Make you lose your belongings and positions of prominence.

  • Turn you into a beggar.

  • Bury your head.

  • Lose in every area of life.

  • To reverse blessings. For example: To take you from the head to the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13).

  • Place you in captivity.

  • Bring sickness and infirmity.

  • Cause untimely death.

  • Afflict and torment you.

  • Bewitch you and cause confusion.

  • Destroy your potential.

The enemy desires to ensnare you to keep you grounded, but these feeble attempts will backfire publicly and painfully. In prayer, I saw a vision of piles of rubble. The Lord spoke to me in prayer and said, “MY WORD WILL PREVAIL”.

Take comfort in knowing that the Lord is vigilant and has an indispensable amount of angels at his beckoning call to watch over you. You will not be embarrassed and you will not be stopped. I urge you to remain alert and vigilant against the schemes of the fowler and seek God’s protection and guidance. The enemy seeks to ensnare by:

  • Appealing to the lust of the flesh through pleasure or material rewards.

  • Preying upon your fears and doubts.

  • Provoking anger and bitterness from past trauma or unhealed wounds.

  • An onslaught of lies in an attempt to discredit and create false narratives.

Do not fall for the snares, just walk with the steps that have already been ordered. The Lord is reminding you to trust Him as a deliverer from every trap that has been set to keep you from soaring like an eagle. The metaphor also serves as a reminder of God’s protection and care for His people. He is our refuge and our shield, and He will protect us from the snares of the enemy.

Take dominion.

Deliverance Prayers
