The Thief Comes to Steal

This paradigm shift is marked by more than innovation; it carries opportunities to experience the awe and wonder of God with clean hands and a pure heart. Many of you have received revelatory downloads from the Holy Spirit that serve as blueprints for what you are destined to build. Unlike past seasons, God has placed clear parameters around what you can and cannot release to the public. The specificity with which God has requested His plan to unfold should not be taken lightly.
When He spoke to Moses about Aaron and his sons serving as priests, He did not simply say, “Make garments.” He said:
“You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.” (Exodus 28:2 ESV)
He named each piece, the ephod, the breastpiece, the robe — and described the materials, the craftsmanship, and even the placement of stones on the priest’s chest. Every detail reflected His holiness, His order, and His desire for His people to approach Him rightly. The same God who gave Moses blueprints for the tabernacle and instructions for consecration is the God who orders my steps today. His specificity is not control; it’s care. It means He sees every detail, values every assignment, and prepares every person for their calling with intention.
The Lord took me up in the Spirit and showed me the imagery of a theft — a personification of the accuser of the brethren. This thief does not desire your money or personal belongings. He has been loosed to commandeer information and revelation that God has given specifically to you.
• The thief has been sent to rob you of your time through unnecessary distractions.
• The thief has been sent to rob you of your privacy by enlisting monitoring spirits to surveil you.
• The thief has been sent to make you question your convictions and the leadership of the Holy Spirit by robbing you of your peace.
• The thief has been sent to infiltrate your friendships and sow seeds from the kingdom of strife.
• The thief has been sent to rob you of your intellectual property by planting covetousness and vain ambition in the hearts of those around you.
• The thief has been sent to derail your destiny through lower-dimensional schemes.
• The thief has been sent to steal your boldness through subtle intimidation.
But the plan of the enemy will not prosper! The Lord has already dispatched a league of angels to guard you and the assignment He has entrusted to you. There are two specific areas in which you must remain vigilant in the coming months: the temptation to exploit the gifts of God and the temptation to ignore the warnings of the Holy Spirit.
The Temptation to Exploit the Gifts of God
The account of the seven sons of Sceva is a sobering reminder that the gifts of God cannot be exploited without consequence. These men saw Paul operating in the authority of Jesus’ name, and they tried to imitate it for their own purposes:
“I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” (Acts 19:13 ESV)
But they had no relationship with Christ, only an agenda. They wanted the results without the surrender, the authority without the intimacy. The demonic spirit’s response was chilling:
“Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15 ESV)
The enemy’s plan has always been to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). One of his tactics is to lure people into treating God’s power like a commodity, something to be bought, sold, or imitated for status, wealth, or influence. When we try to wield His gifts outside of His will, we step onto dangerous ground.
The authority of God is not a performance tool. It is the overflow of a life fully submitted to Him. Without that submission, even the enemy knows we have no standing.
I have personally been in uncomfortable situations where people approached me seeking to “buy” a prophetic gift, obtain healing on demand, or request a strategy to gain spiritual power. Remember: these gifts are not ours to sell, nor can they be stolen.
The Temptation to Ignore the Warnings of the Holy Spirit
Paul’s imprisonment in Jerusalem is a cautionary tale about disregarding divine warnings. On his journey, the Holy Spirit sent multiple cautions. In Tyre, “through the Spirit…they were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem” (Acts 21:4 ESV). In Caesarea, the prophet Agabus bound his own hands and feet with Paul’s belt, declaring, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt…’” (Acts 21:11 ESV).
Yet Paul continued, determined to complete what was in his heart — and soon found himself in chains. Sometimes, God sends warnings not to test our courage, but to protect our destiny. Ignoring His voice, even with pure motives, can lead us into battles He never intended for us to fight.
Nevertheless, be steadfast and immovable. Do not be swayed by the intimidation of the enemy. You have been given divine protection to build, and no plan of the enemy will prevail against you. The word of the Lord will be established, in Jesus’ name.
